Hi, I’m SOFIA — I Cook Real Food for Real Life

Welcome to AstroRecipes — Real People, Real Recipes, Real Stories.
AstroRecipes is built by a small team of passionate cooks who’ve spent years in kitchens — professional and personal, local and international. Every recipe here carries a story. Here’s ours:

👩‍🍳 Sofia — Founder, Editor-in-Chief & Smart Breakfast
Twenty years ago, Sofia stepped into her first professional kitchen at the age of nineteen — and never really left.
What started as a summer job in a small café in Casablanca turned into a lifelong love affair with food and travel. Over the next two decades, Sofia cooked her way across continents: she trained in pastry techniques in Paris, spent three months learning spice blending in Marrakech’s medina, fell in love with slow Southern cooking during a two-year stay in New Orleans, and absorbed the art of fresh, minimal ingredients while living in Barcelona.
She’s cooked for families, strangers, small dinner parties, and big holiday tables. She’s failed spectacularly and succeeded beyond expectation. Through it all, one truth stayed constant: the best meals are never about perfection — they’re about presence.
Today, Sofia brings those 20 years of kitchen adventures to AstroRecipes — and to the Smart Breakfast section in particular, because she firmly believes that how you start your morning shapes everything that follows.
“I’ve cooked in four countries and a dozen cities. The lesson is always the same: keep it simple, make it honest, and never skip breakfast.” — Sofia

🥗 Maya — Wellness Recipes Author
E-mail:[email protected]

Maya didn’t grow up eating healthy — she grew up eating well. There’s a difference.
Raised in a household where her grandmother treated every ailment with food before medicine, Maya developed a deep respect for ingredients as healers. After studying nutrition for three years and spending time volunteering at a community wellness center in Austin, Texas, she began experimenting with recipes that were as nourishing as they were delicious.
Her philosophy: no deprivation, no complicated substitutions, no food that makes you feel like you’re missing out. Just clean, colorful, genuinely satisfying meals that happen to be good for you.
She manages the Wellness Recipes section at AstroRecipes with one goal in mind: making healthy eating something you actually look forward to.
“The best wellness recipe is one you’ll make again next week — because you loved it, not because you felt obligated.” — Maya

🍗 Claire — Southern Bites Author
E-mail:[email protected]

Claire, Southern Bites author at AstroRecipes,
Southern American cuisine specialist and comfort food expert

Claire was seven years old the first time she stood on a step stool next to her grandmother in a Georgia kitchen, watching a cast iron skillet sizzle with something that smelled like Sunday.
That moment never left her. Over the years, Claire immersed herself in the traditions of Southern American cooking — studying the regional differences between Louisiana Creole, Carolina BBQ, Appalachian comfort food, and Texas smokehouse culture. She spent summers traveling between small towns, eating at roadside diners, church potlucks, and family reunions, collecting recipes and stories with equal enthusiasm.
Her cooking isn’t about trends. It’s about memory, community, and the kind of food that brings people back to the table.
At AstroRecipes, Claire runs the Southern Bites section with the same energy she brings to every dish: generous, soulful, and unapologetically bold.
“Southern cooking is an act of love. You don’t rush love.” — Claire

🍂 Nora — Seasonal Joy Author
E-mail:[email protected]

Nora, Seasonal Joy author at AstroRecipes,
seasonal and holiday recipes specialist with a passion for fresh ingredients

Nora has always cooked by the calendar.
Growing up in a small town in the Pacific Northwest, she learned early that the best ingredients were the ones that arrived on their own schedule — wild mushrooms in October, strawberries in June, squash in November. Her mother kept a kitchen garden, and Nora kept notes.
After spending several years as a food stylist for a regional magazine, Nora developed a sharp eye for the visual and emotional language of food — how a dish can feel like a season, a holiday, or a specific afternoon from childhood. She channels all of that into the Seasonal Joy section at AstroRecipes: recipes tied to moments, celebrations, and the quiet pleasure of cooking with what’s fresh and alive.
“A recipe isn’t just instructions. It’s an invitation to live in the moment you’re cooking for.” — Nora

Our Promise to You
Between the four of us, we’ve cooked in over a dozen countries, tested thousands of recipes, made every possible mistake, and learned something valuable from each one. AstroRecipes exists because we believe good food shouldn’t be intimidating — it should be inviting.
Every recipe is tested. Every ingredient is real. Every story behind it is ours.
